
September 8, 2009: Governor Paterson, Mayor Bloomberg, and DEC Commissioner Pete Grannis announced $220 million in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding for the City of New York at the Newtown Creek Water Pollution Control Plant in Brooklyn. The projects will fund innovative, sustainable clean water infrastructure throughout the City, ranging from measures to reduce flooding in Cambria Heights and Far Rockaway in Queens, to a wetland restoration project and the creation of an ecology park in Paerdegat Basin, Brooklyn. |
