If you operate a plastic composites facility that manufactures products with thermoset resins and/or gel coats containing hazardous air pollutants (HAP) and volatile organic compounds (VOC), your facility will be required to have a permit or registration from the DEC. Permits and registrations help DEC document the effectiveness of air pollution control programs and verify that businesses are meeting annual emission limits and/or control requirements. Both large and small businesses need a permit or registration before they construct or operate any equipment or processes that could cause air pollution.
