Beginning January 1, 2005, DEC regulations require pre-approval of spray gun systems that manufacturers market as 'compliant'. These systems must have a demonstrated ability to achieve equivilant or better transfer efficiency then high-volume, low-pressure spray guns (HVLP).
The following is a list of equipment that has been reviewed and approved, with conditions, by NYS DEC for use in auto body shops throughout New York State:
These spray guns must be operated in accordance with conditions outlined in the approval letter by NYS DEC. Operators must keep a copy of the equipment approval letter on file.
