Beginning January 1, 2005, DEC regulations require pre-approval of spray gun systems that manufacturers market as 'compliant'.  These systems must have a demonstrated ability to achieve equivilant or better transfer efficiency then high-volume, low-pressure spray guns (HVLP).

The following is a list of equipment that has been reviewed and approved, with conditions, by NYS DEC for use in auto body shops throughout New York State:

• DeVilbiss GTI Pro Spray Gun with T2 Air Cap (pdf)
• DeVilbiss CVI Spray Gun with #510 Air Cap (pdf)
• ITW De Vilbiss GFG-670 (Plus) Spray Gun (pdf)
• ITW Tekna Spray Gun with 7E7 Air Cap (pdf)
• SATAjet RP non-digital and DIGITAL 2 Spray Gun (pdf)
• SATAjet 3000 B RP and SATAjet 3000 B RP Digital Spray Guns (pdf)

These spray guns must be operated in accordance with conditions outlined in the approval letter by NYS DEC.  Operators must keep a copy of the equipment approval letter on file.
